Her clan's traditions (MistClan) dictated that when she was born, she would grow up to be strong and leader-like due to her light blue markings on her paws (a symbol to her old clan). However, her father Pebblewing despised this, and when she was a kit to a young warrior, he influenced much of her day to restrain her. After an argument with her father about this, he wounded her severely, and she miraculously lived. When she healed, she publicly announced her father's treachery and evil, and rebelled against him. She fled afterwards with her best friend, Oaksplash, and founded LakeClan.
